Dear Residents of Fairmont Hot Springs and Dutch Creek,

Due to the continued extreme hot weather and the significant increase in water usage we have observed over the past few days, Fairmont Hot Springs Utilities is reminding the community to keep in mind the 2024 Schedule of watering times.

These outdoor water hours are in place for the benefit of our community, ensuring that we have ample water for our usage. It is imperative that residents abide by these hours and water in moderation. Our schedule is as follows; please choose morning OR evening for watering on your scheduled days:

Automatic Sprinklers

    Morning

     Evening Morning
6 am – 10 am 6 pm – 10 pm

3 am – 8 am
Even Number Addresses Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays
Odd Number Addresses Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays

No Watering: Sundays, Canada Day Long Weekend (June 29 – July 1), August Long Weekend (August 3-5)

We understand that these measures may cause inconvenience, but they have been implemented throughout the Valley and large city systems as they are vital to safeguarding our community’s drinking water and fire mitigation. If these guidelines are not followed, we will issue further restrictions.

Please note as per our Water Tariff No. 4:

Contravention of Water Use Restrictions

  • First offense for water conservation order: Warning
  • First offense (all others): $100.00
  • Subsequent offenses: $200.00
  • Discontinuance of Service: at Utility cost

Note: “Utility Cost” means the Utility will invoice the Customer for the cost of doing the work at the direct cost paid by the Utility for such work plus a 15% administration fee.

Also, please note: The golf courses and the areas by the highway, the big sign area, and the Real Estate/Visitor Center are on the mountainside irrigation system, which is not potable water but creek water.
